Placement Wrecked

My friend rocked into my room with his c.v, totally mingled and almost torn. He banged himself on the chair and drank all the water i had in my only bottle. For a moment i was scared looking at him, it was blood in his eyes. I took up the 4 pg c.v in which 3 pages only had research papers and project that too with leading retail brands. He is an M.B.A student specializing in Retail & Marketing. Excellent profile but where he lacked was his 10Th grades where he was under 60%. Year 2008-09 has been marked with campus dryness.

With very few companies only turning up and that too with such specific criteria that are unrealistic to be matched by all aspirants. Country has been marked by what we can term as " Placement Wrecked" situation. All the hard work of the students specifically one like my friend who gave their 2 years in extensive project study and paper presentations are sitting either ideally or going around places where the offer is equivalent to that of graduates.
Though few companies are continuing their recruitment process but the pay packages are hit by the heat of RECESSION. Even the top b-schools in India are missing the churning part this season. And the one who are turning up, are mostly are the "Insurance Co's" so whats there on the cards for MBA's with finance, h.r and retail in particular, mere selling of insurance products. Situation is tuff and most advisable is "Get A JOB PUNK" but how will it be...I PAYED 5.5 LACS THROUGH MY FATHER'S POCKET OR BANK LOAN AND THE HOTTEST CAREERS OF THE COUNTRY FETCHES ME 3.10 LACS(2.10 FIXED + 1 VARIABLE.)...Lastly what i can say is BEST OF LUCK and a wish.."WALL STREET...GET WELL SOON OR WE WILL DIE"
